Descriptive adjectives

Adjectives are words that describe or modify nouns (e.g. girl, boy, etc.) or pronouns (e.g. we, it, she, he), making your writing and speaking much more specific, and a whole lot more interesting. Adjectives may come before or after the word they modify.

There are many kinds of adjectives. Among them there is a category descriptive adjectives. Descriptive adjectives describe nouns or pronouns in detail by giving an attribute to that particular word. They usually express things through the five senses (touch, smell, taste, sight and sound).

  • Compound adjectives are created when two words are combined to create a descriptive adjective. The two words are typically connected with a hyphen.
